I am not a photographer, but I sometimes pretend to be one. Photography has been an interest and a passion of mine for many years. Though I don't get nearly as much time to pursue it as I would like, I try to get behind the camera whenever I can. For me, photography is a continuous learning process—I have come a long way from where I began, but I am always trying to improve, to learn by doing. This website is not really a portfolio, per se, but rather just a place to share some of the photographs I take.
Talking about a "genre" is necessarily arbitrary to some extent. That said, if I had to choose, my interests tend toward what might variously be called street, travel, documentary, or editorial photography. My favourite photographs are the ones that tell a story. This is, for me at least, the greatest challenge in photography, and the skill I am most conscious of trying to improve.
There is more to me than photographs, of course. I enjoy writing, travel, fashion, coffee. I also have a perpetual (if uninformed and passive) interest in art, architecture, and design. I have started (and failed at) blogging at least a dozen times in recent years, but I will try in earnest to keep up with this one. Stay tuned for updates, thoughts, adventures, sporadic forays into the literary arts, and the occasional passive-aggressive release.
I am currently an articling student and soon-to-be lawyer. I completed my law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Before that, I earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Guelph with a double major in English and History.
I hope you enjoy the site, and please feel free to get in touch.
